Muddy Waters (1913-1983), born McKinley Morganfield, is remembered as the father of modern Chicago blues, bringing the Delta tradition to electrified stages and recordings that captivated audiences worldwide. His commanding voice and innovative guitar playing redefined the possibilities of the blues and inspired countless artists in rock, soul and jazz.

He remained deeply connected to the musicians who shared his passion, mentoring younger players while remaining a beloved presence on the South Side. He was laid to rest at Restvale Cemetery, where fans and fellow artists pay tribute to his enduring influence.
