Biography
Murray Weidenbaum, a scholar of public finance, helped shape economic policy from his professorship at Washington University in St. Louis and then as chair of the Council of Economic Advisers under President Reagan before advising Presidents and CEOs on fiscal matters.
He maintained a steady belief in the power of markets tempered by thoughtful oversight, sharing his insights through writing, mentoring students, and supporting the Weidenbaum Center on the Economy, Government, and Public Policy.
