Biography

Mütercim Rüşdü Paşa (1811–1882) was a prominent Ottoman politician and intellectual who played an important role in the administrative and cultural life of the Ottoman Empire. His career reflected the modernizing impulses of the Tanzimat period, and his contributions to Ottoman governance and policy helped shape the direction of 19th-century Ottoman reform. His political acumen and administrative expertise were recognized by his contemporaries.
