Biography

Nagasaki Kōsai (1799–1864) was a distinguished physician practicing Kampo medicine, the traditional Japanese medical system. He served his community with medical expertise during a period when traditional healing practices remained central to Japanese healthcare.

Interred at Zuiryū-ji Temple, Kōsai's life exemplified the integration of medical practice and spiritual devotion. His contributions to Kampo medicine represent an important chapter in the history of traditional Japanese healing arts during the late Edo period.
