Nancy E. Morrison

Nancy E. Morrison, born in 1844, devoted herself to the children of New Hagerstown, teaching them to read and understand the wider world even as the country emerged from conflict. She also offered comfort to families affected by war, lending her calm voice to those trying to navigate a new peace.

Though her years were few, she poured them into service, helping neighbors in their gardens, sharing news from distant relatives, and leaving a gentle legacy that touched hearts before her death in 1871.
