Biography
Nasīm Mallūl (1892–1959) devoted his career to opening new literary worlds for Hebrew readers, translating works that brought distant voices into dialogue with the growing culture of Eretz Yisrael. He attended carefully to nuance, so every sentence he rendered kept the cadence of the original while inviting new audiences to share its meaning.
His efforts are still remembered by those who treasure a living literature, and he rests in Kiryat Shaul Cemetery among others who shaped Israel's modern story.
