Biography
Nathaniel Appleton Haven (1790–1826) was born in the early years of American independence and came of age during the nation's formative decades. Though his life was brief, spanning only thirty-six years, he lived during a period of significant growth and development in the young United States.
Haven was part of the generation born after the Revolution, inheriting the nation that his predecessors had fought to establish. He was laid to rest in Proprietors Burying Ground, where his memory endures among those who contributed to early American society.
