Biography

Neil David Levin (1954–2001) dedicated his career to public transportation, ultimately serving as Executive Director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. His steady stewardship guided an enormous, complex agency with a focus on safety, service and the people who kept it running.

He forged partnerships, nurtured the talents of young professionals and approached every challenge with unwavering optimism. Neil’s tragic passing on 9/11 robbed the region of a compassionate leader, but his commitment to public service endures as a standard for others.
