Biography
Nels Wold, born in 1895, answered the call to serve when his country entered the Great War, leaving the rhythms of civilian life for the uncertainty of overseas duty. He carried with him the hopes of family and friends who admired his determination and the steady courage with which he faced each new challenge.
In the months that followed, he showed the same quiet resolve on the field of battle that he had shown in his hometown, and his service was etched into the hearts of those who received news of his passing.
