Biography

Sir Neville Howse rose from a young Australian doctor to become the first Australian recipient of the Victoria Cross, earning distinction during the Boer War for his lifesaving efforts under fire.

Later he guided health policy as a cabinet minister and championed improved medical assistance for veterans, leaving a legacy honored at Kensal Green Cemetery.
