Biography

Nicholas J. Sinnott, born in 1870, devoted much of his life to public service, representing Oregon in the U.S. House for more than a decade and lending his voice to the thoughtful stewardship of natural resources and the fair treatment of constituents. He believed in legislation that balanced progress with respect for the land and the people whose lives it touched.

After leaving Congress, he continued to practice law with the same sense of duty, always returning to the ideals of fairness and civility that guided him from the start.
