Niels Tvilling

Biography

Born in 1849 near Elling Church, Niels Tvilling spent his life along the North Jutland coast, reading the tides and braving the open water as a fisher whose knowledge of the Kattegat shores kept his crews safe.

He tended nets with care, returning each season to share stories of the sea, and his quick eye for weather alongside a warm hand toward younger men made him a beloved figure at Elling Church, where he is now laid to rest.
