Biography

Nikola Stanimirov served as an officer during the Balkan Wars and World War I, striving for fair treatment of men under his command while meeting the demands of difficult campaigns.

After the battles he kept close contact with his comrades, speaking quietly about duty and moderation and supporting efforts to remember the price of peace, a truth recalled by visits to his memorial at Central Sofia Cemetery.
