Biography
Nikolay Golovnin (1797–1850) was a distinguished naval officer whose maritime service contributed to Russian naval traditions and imperial interests. His career reflected the professionalization of the Russian Navy during the early nineteenth century under the Romanov dynasty.
Golovnin's naval service and achievements earned him recognition among the officer corps of his era. He was laid to rest at Smolenskoye Orthodox Cemetery, a burial ground befitting his rank and service to the Russian state and navy.
