Noémi Ferenczy

1890–1957 (age 67)

Biography

Noémi Ferenczy translated the lyrical heritage of Hungarian folk traditions into tapestries and paintings, crafting textures and palettes that resonated with quiet strength. Her studio was a place of experimentation, where craftsmanship and storytelling met in richly layered works.

She also taught weaving and painting to eager pupils, believing that artistic technique should be shared generously. Her resting place in the Fiume Road Graveyard holds the memory of a painter whose tapestries still warm museum halls with their luminous color.
