Biography

Oakley C. Curtis rose from the Maine legislature to the governor's office, where he championed improved harbor facilities, labor protections, and preparedness for a world in flux.

After leaving the governorship he continued to counsel public servants and lend his energy to the civic institutions that nurtured Maine's maritime towns.
