Biography

Odon Guitar (1825-1908) answered the call to serve as a Union Army officer and later as a civic leader, guiding his fellow Missourians through the turbulence of war and reconstruction with courage and integrity. He balanced martial duty with a deep attachment to the law, helping to rebuild trust in local institutions after the conflict.

His final rest at Columbia Cemetery honors a life spent defending both the nation and the rights of the people around him.
