Biography

Ödön Széchenyi (1839–1922) was a Hungarian composer whose long life spanned the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. His musical compositions contributed to the European classical tradition during a period of significant cultural development and artistic innovation.

Ödön Széchenyi's career reflected the cosmopolitan nature of European musical life in the late nineteenth century. He was laid to rest in Pangaltı Catholic Cemetery, a location that reflects his religious faith and his life spent in Constantinople, where he contributed to the city's diverse cultural landscape.
