Oliver Garrison

Biography

Oliver Garrison (1778–1840) was a resident of the Pittsburgh area during its early development as an industrial center. His life coincided with the growth of western Pennsylvania and the expansion of American settlement beyond the Appalachian Mountains.

Garrison's burial at Allegheny Cemetery reflects his place in the community of Pittsburgh during its formative years. His sixty-two years of life spanned the American Revolution through the early decades of the nineteenth century.
