Olivia Hooker

Biography

Olivia Hooker, born in 1915, became one of the first African American women to serve in the U.S. Coast Guard, forging a path for others while the nation faced war and change.

She later became a psychologist, advocate for children, and fixture in the White Plains community, spending decades championing justice and education.
