Biography

Olivier de Montalent was a pioneering French aircraft pilot who emerged during the early days of aviation. His career spanned the formative years of powered flight, when aviation was still in its infancy and pilots were among the most daring adventurers of their era.

De Montalent's contributions to aviation history were cut short by his untimely death in 1913 at the age of 23. He is remembered as part of the generation of early aviators who helped establish the foundations of modern aviation, and he was laid to rest in the Cimetière monumental de Rouen.
