Biography
Olympia Brown became one of the first women ordained by a major Christian denomination, using her pulpit to advocate for the spiritual and civic rights of women and to lay the groundwork for later suffrage efforts.
She traveled extensively as a speaker for the National Woman Suffrage Association, united congregations with reformers, and, even after the vote was won, inspired new generations to seek equality and extend the values of compassion and justice to every corner of society.
