Biography
Onibōzu Seikichi lived during the late Edo period, a time of significant cultural and artistic development in Japan. Though his life was brief, spanning from 1776 to 1805, he left his mark on his community and was honored with burial at the respected Zōshigaya Cemetery in Edo.
His legacy endures through his connection to one of Edo's most important burial grounds, reflecting the esteem in which he was held by his contemporaries. Seikichi's life, though cut short at twenty-nine years of age, represents the vibrant intellectual and spiritual life of late Edo society.
