Biography
Osborn Deignan answered the call to serve in the United States Navy, earning the Medal of Honor for his bravery during the Spanish-American War when he helped cut the cables at Cienfuegos while under heavy fire. His actions exemplified courage and devotion to duty in a conflict that marked the nation’s emergence on the global stage.
He later made his home near Los Angeles, remained close to fellow sailors, and shared the lessons of service before being interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
