Biography
Oscar Charles Badger devoted more than five decades to the U.S. Navy, serving through the Mexican-American War, the Civil War, and subsequent years of peace, commanding ships and squadrons with unwavering professionalism.
He remained a steady presence in the service during a time of great expansion and adaptation, and today his name rests among fellow sailors at Arlington National Cemetery.
