Otis B. Duncan

Biography

Otis B. Duncan, born 1873, rose to become the highest-ranking African American officer during World War I, leading the famed 370th Infantry Regiment with courage and discipline.

He inspired the soldiers he commanded and the community that supported them, and his presence is still felt at Camp Butler National Cemetery where he now rests.
