Methodist missionary

Biography

Otis Gibson answered the call to ministry with a heart for the marginalized, first serving African American communities on the Pacific Coast before founding enduring work among Chinese immigrants, insisting they be treated with compassion and dignity.

He documented those efforts in writings that inspired other missionaries, led congregations that welcomed the newcomer, and left a legacy of faith-driven inclusion remembered at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
