Biography
Otto Donner (1835-1909) combined his expertise as linguist and scholar with a deep commitment to public affairs, helping to found the Society for the Study of Finno-Ugric Languages and serving in the Senate.
He inspired generations of students at the University of Helsinki and supported the growth of philanthropic and scientific institutions, leaving an enduring imprint on Finnish culture before being laid to rest at Hietaniemi Cemetery.
