Owen Jones

Biography

Owen Jones (1741–1814) pursued the antiquities of Wales with reverent curiosity, cataloguing manuscripts and monuments to make the past more intelligible to modern minds. His investigations helped form a bridge between scholarly circles and the communities whose histories he recorded.

At Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr his memorial keeps alive the memory of a learned collector who treasured old tales and held them up so others could learn and find shared roots.
