Biography

P. A. Pozdnev was a distinguished Russian Orthodox archbishop whose ecclesiastical career spanned decades of religious and political change in Russia. His service to the Church reflected his deep commitment to Orthodox faith and pastoral leadership during a period of significant transformation.

Pozdnev's long life, extending from 1853 to 1934, allowed him to witness and navigate the profound changes that affected the Russian Orthodox Church during the late Imperial and early Soviet periods. He was laid to rest at Rogozhskoye Cemetery, a burial ground of significance to the Orthodox community.
