Paul Cuffee rose from humble origins to become a respected maritime trader and advocate for the rights of free Black Americans, building ships and fostering international commerce with integrity.
He used his influence to support education and emigration efforts, and he is honored at the Paul Cuffee grave for his tireless work to expand opportunity and dignity for all.
