Biography
Paul Émile Destouches was a French painter of the nineteenth century who contributed to the artistic life of Paris during a prolific career spanning several decades. Working during the Romantic era, he was part of the vibrant artistic community of Montparnasse, where he developed his craft and exhibited his works.
Destouches' artistic legacy reflects the transitional period of French painting in the nineteenth century. He remained active in the Parisian art scene throughout his long life, passing away in 1874 at the age of eighty. He was laid to rest in Montparnasse Cemetery, among many of his contemporaries in the arts.
