Biography
Paul Fearing emerged among the earliest professional men of the Ohio country, serving as the first United States attorney for the Northwest Territory and helping to translate the rule of law into the frontier villages of the new republic. He became a trusted counselor to Marietta families and a steady advocate for orderly government when the region was forging its identity.
His dedication to justice and civic responsibility continues to resonate in the river valley communities that grew around Harmar, and visitors to Harmar Cemetery still find comfort in the memory of his steady leadership.
