Biography

Paul Le Voisvenel (1826–1897) was a French architect whose career extended across much of the nineteenth century. He witnessed and participated in the significant architectural transformations of France, from the later years of the Restoration through the early Third Republic.

His professional contributions to French architecture earned him a place of honor in Père Lachaise Cemetery. Le Voisvenel's long career and distinguished burial reflect the esteem in which he was held by his contemporaries and the architectural profession.
