Peleg Tallman

Biography

Peleg Tallman (1764–1840) was a merchant and ship captain whose career spanned the formative decades of American maritime commerce. As a merchant and captain, he was part of the growing network of traders and seafarers who connected American ports and expanded commercial opportunities during the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

Tallman's life reflected the opportunities and challenges of maritime enterprise in the early American republic. He was laid to rest in Forest Hills Cemetery, a testament to his standing in his community and his contributions to the maritime commerce of his era.
