Biography

Per Ulrik Stenhammar (1829–1875) was a Swedish composer whose musical works contributed to the development of 19th-century Scandinavian music. Though his life was relatively brief, spanning only forty-six years, his compositions reflected the romantic and nationalist musical sensibilities of his era and left an imprint on Swedish musical traditions.

Stenhammar's legacy as a composer remains part of Swedish cultural heritage. He was laid to rest in the Cimetière du Nord de Solna, honoring his contributions to music and his place in the artistic traditions of his nation.
