Biography

Pete Newell became one of basketball's most respected coaches after leading the University of California to an NCAA championship in 1959 and guiding teams with a focus on fundamentals, discipline, and teamwork.

After retiring from coaching he launched the Big Man Camp to develop post players, served as an architect of Olympic basketball mastery, and left a legacy of mentorship whose echo can be felt at Holy Cross Cemetery, where he rests among those who admired his lifelong devotion to the game.
