Biography

Peter Carl Fabergé, born in 1846, became a jeweler of legendary renown whose dexterity with precious metals and stones elevated the art of decorative objects in the final decades of the Russian Empire. Trained in Saint Petersburg, he led the House of Fabergé and infused each creation with a harmony of technical innovation and poetic detail that captured the courts of Europe.

He is best remembered for the imperial Easter eggs, marvels of surprise and refinement that brought together inventiveness and storytelling, yet he also fostered a workshop that produced objets d’art cherished by patrons worldwide, leaving a legacy that continued to enchant collectors long after his passing in 1920.
