Peter Maverick was born in 1780 and became an accomplished engraver, a skilled artisan whose craft contributed to the visual culture of early America. His work in engraving represented the fine craftsmanship valued during his era.

Peter passed away in 1831 and was laid to rest at St. John's Burying Ground, his artistic legacy preserved in the prints and engravings he created during his lifetime.
