Biography

Peter Petrovich Dolgorukov was a Russian military officer whose service exemplified the dedication of the nobility to the defense of the Russian Empire during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. His military career reflected the important contributions made by the aristocratic officer corps to Russian military affairs.

Dolgorukov's burial in the Annunciation Church of the Alexander Nevsky Lavra honored his service to the nation. The Lavra, one of Russia's most venerable spiritual institutions, became the resting place for this distinguished military figure whose career contributed to Russian strength and security.
