Biography

Pēteris Irklis was a Latvian politician who played a role in the political life of his nation during the interwar period. He represented the interests of his constituents and participated in the democratic processes of independent Latvia.

Irklis was executed in 1937 during the Great Purge, when Soviet authorities targeted political figures from the Baltic states. His remains were laid to rest at Levashovo Memorial Cemetery, a place of remembrance for those lost to Soviet political violence.
