Biography

Pēteris Stučka was a Latvian revolutionary, legal theorist, and writer who played a significant role in early Soviet history. Born in 1865, he became a prominent Bolshevik intellectual and served in various governmental positions during the formative years of the Soviet Union, contributing substantially to Soviet legal theory and revolutionary thought.

Stučka's legacy as a writer and political thinker extended beyond his official roles, as he sought to develop Marxist approaches to law and governance. He was honored with burial in the Kremlin Wall Necropolis, one of the Soviet Union's most prestigious burial grounds, reflecting his importance to the revolutionary movement. He passed away in 1932.
