Biography
Petro Hryhorenko (1907-1987) served as a Soviet Army general before turning to human rights advocacy, speaking out against the repression of national cultures and insisting on a more just future for Ukraine and those imprisoned for conscience.
His voice echoed in petitions to the United Nations and in conversations within the Ukrainian diaspora, and he now rests at Saint Andrew Cemetery where visitors recall his courage and commitment to dignity.
