Biography
Philip Hamilton (1782–1801) was the eldest son of Alexander Hamilton, one of the nation's founding fathers and first Secretary of the Treasury. Though his life was brief, Philip represented the promise of the next generation during the early republic, born into one of America's most prominent families.
Philip's tragic death at a young age cut short what might have been a significant life. His burial at Trinity Church Cemetery reflects his family's prominence and their deep roots in New York's history and society.
