Philip Petty

Biography

Philip Petty, born in 1840, answered his nation's call during the Civil War and earned the Medal of Honor for his bravery in the face of danger, a distinction that marked only one chapter of a life devoted to duty and honor. He took great pride in serving alongside his comrades and later shared those memories as a reminder of courage and sacrifice.

After the war he remained a dedicated member of his community, offering support to other veterans and quietly stewarding the lessons he had learned about perseverance. When he passed in 1917, he left an example of valor and humility that continues to inspire.
