Biography

Philippe-François Durzy was a French military officer born in 1764 during the reign of Louis XV. He served his nation through the Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, periods that demanded exceptional courage and leadership from military professionals. His career spanned decades of profound change and conflict in European history.

He lived to the age of eighty-seven, dying in 1851 after witnessing the restoration of the monarchy and the establishment of the Second Republic. His burial in Montargis reflects his distinguished service and the respect accorded to him as a veteran of France's most transformative military period.
