Phineas Bruce

Biography

Phineas Bruce (1762–1809) lived during the Revolutionary War and the early Federal period, years of significant upheaval and opportunity in American history. His life spanned the transition from colonial dependence to national independence and the establishment of new governmental structures.

Bruce was a member of his community during a formative era in American development. He was laid to rest in Prospect Hill Cemetery, where his memory is preserved as part of the historical record of his time.
