Biography
Pierre Jean Agier (1748–1823) was a respected lawyer who practiced his profession during one of France's most turbulent and legally consequential periods. His career bridged the old legal systems of the monarchy and the new civil codes of the revolutionary and Napoleonic eras, requiring both wisdom and flexibility.
Agier's contributions to French jurisprudence and his standing in Parisian society were recognized through his burial at the esteemed Père Lachaise Cemetery, where he was interred in 1823 following his death at an advanced age.
