Biography

Pierre Lacour the Elder was a French curator and cultural figure who dedicated his career to the preservation and organization of collections during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. His work as a curator reflected the intellectual pursuits and cultural values of the Enlightenment and post-revolutionary France.

Lacour's contributions to French cultural institutions earned him a place of honor in the Chartreuse Cemetery, where he was laid to rest following his death in 1814. His legacy endures through the collections and institutions he helped establish and maintain.
