Pierre-Théodore Mengin was a merchant of Montmartre during the early nineteenth century. He conducted his commercial affairs during a period of significant transformation in Paris, contributing to the economic life of his community.

Mengin's legacy is preserved in Montmartre Cemetery, where he was laid to rest in 1864. He represents the merchant class that formed the backbone of Parisian commerce during the nineteenth century.
